a trip to the fair

So I just had to post these photos from a few weekends ago. We went to the fair where my husband grew up to see the animals and go to the rodeo. Elle had such a great time. I definitely want to think of a creative way to frame or display some of the photos from our trip.

Liv - She's such a happy baby.

Elle on the roller coaster - can you tell she was having fun??

homemade photo booth

I think this sounds like such a fun photo shoot to do with your kids. I have an old set of filmstrip photo booth photos of me and my mom when I was a baby. I kept meaning to take e with me to a photo booth (I think Kmart has one) but never got around to it - now she isn't a baby anymore! I think I'll still have to actually make it to a photo booth as well as set up my own at home.

alphabet hunting

I've seen more and more of these alphabet art companies popping up during the past year. I first saw the idea featured on Martha Stewart with the company Sticks and Stones. I'd love to start looking for letters in everyday life - especially with my little girl.

nie nie benefit - jonathan canlas photography

While I don't personally know Stephanie Nielsen, I knew of her even before this tragedy consumed our thoughts (and blogs!). I stumbled upon Blissful Living Studio a while ago and have checked out the website on a regular basis. I love the design and the concept. Stephanie happened to be an instructor there. When Jonathan Canlas announced his goal to raise $10,000 for the Nielsen through family portrait sessions, I knew it was a perfect way to help. Check out our photos here and book Jonathan for your next family portrait or big event. He has an amazing photojournalistic style and is great to work with. You won't regret it!

holga

The ethereal feel of Holga photography is amazing. I've been seeing more and more of it pop up recently and have been fighting the urge to buy one. I know they're inexpensive, but I'm worried the expense and hassle of film will result in rolls of film that don't get developed. I'm also a little intimidated about how to use it. Any advice from Holga users?

I've been playing around with an old polaroid. I see so many people taking such cool photos. It's definitely a fun, instant gratification project. However, I know I had several packs of film. They were even sitting on my desk just the other day, but now they are missing. I'm pretty sure the fell into the blackhole of Elle. She has a knack for taking and hiding things in amazing places. Hopefully, I'll find it soon. Otherwise, I'll just have to buy more film which is expensive!
