I need your feedback! So I have an idea about recovering a small child's couch/chair for a toy room I'm redoing right now in my basement. I'm not really set on a specific color palette for the room, but I'm currently thinking aqua/teals, corally orange/pinks/red, grays. I want the room to feel fun yet slightly sophisticated. With just 2 girls for now it can edge towards the girly side, but I want the flexibility of it not being so girly that a boy is totally out of place.
I did a quick search at fabric.com and pulled these swatches. I'm thinking that if I can find a fabric I really like, I can base the paint and some other decor around it.
So do you have any favorites from the image above or any recommendations I should check out? The couch/chair will be set against a wall that is visible when looking straight through the door into the room.
Any thoughts???

I really like the teal swatch in the upper left corner...however, I think that if you really wanted a more even space, I would got with the red and white swatch (middle row far right). I think with the red it could be "girly" or it could be "boyish". As for painting the walls...I'm different on that. I don't like 1 solid color. I like 3 walls 1 color and 1 wall an accent, with the trim tying it all together...yeah so I guess I really not that much help... hrmmm...
my favorite one is the far left middle row. big gray and yellow flowers. its my favorite pattern of them all and i think you could easily accessorize with teals, oranges and reds. have some really big throw pillows out of a couple colors that could stack against the wall. remember our big pillows growing up. i remember us using those for everything!
I love all of them! I really like the one in the top right corner. Whatever you pick I am sure will turn out awesome!
i agree with andrea on the top right corner. i'm loving that coral color. another pattern in LOVE is the bottom row, third from left. i feel like i've seen this style of graphic patterns cropping up a lot recently. the colors work great together. it feels sophisticated, yet not too stuffy for little girls. it seems like a versatile fabric.
can't wait to see the finished product!
The one on the farthest lower left corner is a really nice one! The pattern is rather large and looks great on bigger items. I used it once to make a casserole carrier. It was gone right away at my Farmer's Market table
I'm totally partial to the red paisley on the far right, middle row. That and the other red fabric swatch on the bottom row, second from the right. Of the greens, I really like the middle row, second from right.
I can't wait to see what you do with the space!
I am completely in love with the top left tealy blue happiness swatch. And also the one that reminds me of goldfish scales on the bottom row, second from the right.
Ooh-la-la, what a basement this will be! :)
LOVE your daring ideas and projects, btw. You are so resourceful and creative! :)
